MP Oscar Sudi hits back at CS Muturi

Kapseret Member of Parliament, Oscar Kipchumba Sudi has rebuked the CS Public Service,
Justin Muturi over the latter’s statement regarding the abduction and the release of his son which
has since caught the county’s attention.
Taking to his socials, Sudi slammed Muturi and questioned the timing of his statement. He
observed that the former IG’s political career was at the brink of collapse and was seeking
relevance from Kenyans.
“This desperate move, made now that your political career has waned, is a clear blackmail
attempt. The timing is highly suspicious, revealing a coward man clutching at straws for political
advantage,” he posted on X platform.
He said that there is no chance Muturi’s son would have been arrested with no reason. He further
added that there were many astute professionals in Embu County who could replace Muturi in
the moment he decides to ship out.

“In regards to your son's woes, who is my agemate, ‘kwani alishikwa’ bure (was he arrested for
no reason?)” Sudi posed. He continued, “Furthermore, there are many Embu professionals who
can serve the country with zeal, you can ship out.”
On Tuesday, Justin Muturi had presented himself at Kilimani police station to record a statement
on the abduction of his son. According to the statement, the National Intelligence Service NIS
was behind the abductions that have been witnessed on the country lately.
Muturi recounted that following his son’s disappearance he was forced to seek the assistance of
IG of police, the DCI and the Ministry of Interior all which proved futile. He later decided to
approach President Ruto and briefed him on the matter.
In expressing his belief that NIS was holding his son, he told President to call Noordin Haji.
“Standing outside the pavilion, I heard the President ask Noordin Haji if was holding my son,
Noordin confirmed that indeed he was holding my son and the president instructed him to release
Leslie immediately. Noordin responded that Leslie would be released within an hour,” the
statement read in part.
Sudi joins a group of Kenya Kwanza lawmakers who have publicly lashed Muturi, and called
him to resign. Aldai MP Marianne Kitany had earlier threatened to file an impeachment motion
against the embattled Cabinet Secretary.
In his response, Muturi dared the lawmakers to “bring it on”.
